Tamannaah Bhatia, known for her role in the Prime Video series “Jee Karda,” opened up about the experience of turning 30 and her character in the show. In “Jee Karda,” she plays Lavanya, a woman struggling with the idea of marriage and the challenges that follow. Bhatia clarified that she is not as confused as her character in real life.
Turning 30 brings about a certain shift in one’s perspective, according to Bhatia. She mentioned that growing older brings the reality of adulthood into focus. It’s a time when people aim to avoid repeating the mistakes made in their 20s and instead make new ones. Bhatia expressed her relief at not being as confused as Lavanya, acknowledging that her character’s confusion is essential for the storyline.
Recalling her 30th birthday, Bhatia shared an unusual experience of celebrating it in a stranger’s house while being away from home. Despite already having a successful career, she admitted that the realization of entering her 30s felt significant.
“Jee Karda,” a romance drama written and directed by Arunima Sharma, revolves around a group of childhood friends who realize that life at 30 is different from what they had envisioned. Sharma highlighted the existing stigma attached to turning 30, sharing her personal experience of how she thought she would be well-established in her career and married by that age. However, life had different plans for her, and she emphasized the importance of living life without pressure or feeling late in achieving certain milestones.
The show’s lead actor, Suhail Nayyar, added that “Jee Karda” aims to explore the evolving definition of friendship in today’s world. He mentioned that Indian cinema has always celebrated friendship, and the series aims to capture the essence of modern-day friendships. Co-written by Hussain Dalal and Abbas Dalal, the show is produced by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films.
“Jee Karda” features Anya Singh, Dalal, Sayan Banerjee, and Samvedna Suwalka alongside Tamannaah Bhatia. The cast also includes Simone Singh and Malhar Thakar in key roles.
